Michael studied design at the University of Wisconsin. He then moved to Colorado, where he worked for two expatriates of the Charles and Ray Eames office and produced many projects that combined graphics with three-dimensional design. Joined Pentagram’s NY office in 1985 and was elected a Partner in 1993.

Michael’s images and programs are known for their simplicity and clarity, and often portray the essential qualities of the object or topic he is representing.
