Julia Hasting studied graphic design at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe and graduated in 1998. She is currently a designer and art director in New York, defining the design aesthetic of books published at Phaidon Press. She has worked in Germany designing corporate identities, posters and books, for clients including ZKM, European Film Institute, ZKM Media Museum, Expo 2000 Hannover and Form design magazine. In 1998 Hasting moved to London and started designing books for Phaidon. In 2000 she relocated to New York to start a new design department for Phaidon’s US office. Hasting has been a guest professor at Cooper Union School of Art, a juror on major design competitions and a lecturer at international conferences.Her work has won many awards, including: Silver and Gold Medals at ADC, NY; First Prize for Typography, Golden Bee, Moscow; D&AD, London; TDC, NY; ITP International Poster Triennale, Toyama, Japan; Biennale of Graphic Design, Brno; 100 Best Posters, Berlin.

    Julia Hasting studied graphic design at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe and graduated in 1998. She is currently a designer and art director in New York, defining the design aesthetic of books published at Phaidon Press.
