Gene was a member of Leon Friend’s legendary Art Squad at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Pratt Institute (1939), with a special interest in typography. After he served in WW2, Gene worked for Fortune magazine as associate art director with Will Burtin. Soon after, he joined Grey Advertising, followed by DDB and Douglas D. Simon as art director. In 1965 he formed Lord Geller Federico Einstein Inc. During his career his clients included Woman’s Day, IBM, Container Corporation of America, Harper’s Bazaar, Random House and Columbia Records.
