Read full biographyVera van de Seyp is a computational designer, artist and educator based in the Netherlands. She explores new parts of technology where boundaries are still blurry and yet to be defined and finds systems in chaos. This manifests in artefacts such as generative design tools, printed matter, tactile knitted graphics, computational typography, websites, and spatial installations.
Vera pushes boundaries of both her expertise and the medium she works in, and develops work in a conceptual yet intuitive manner. Code is her primary material, with which she creates custom design tools. In this process, she combines generative systems with principles of craftsmanship and design.
Beyond her own practice, Vera van de Seyp is dedicated to sharing knowledge. She teaches, conducts workshops, lectures and mentorship programs with the aim to encourage the next generation of makers to explore a generative approach to design. She also organizes the yearly creative coding symposium ITERATIONS.
