Báez is founder of Archivo Gráfico (VE), a digital archive compiling Venezuelan Graphic Design history.
His most recent awards include: Tokyo TDC Annual Awards Prize Nominee Work (Japan, 2025); Certificate of Excellence, ISTD International Typographic Awards 2024 (England, 2024); First Prize at the Fiebre Photobook Dummy Award (Spain, 2023), Honorable Mention in “Best Book Design from All Over The World” (Germany, 2018) and First Photobook Award Prize at the Paris Photo - Aperture Foundation Award (France, 2017).
He is co-editor/designer with Sagrario Berti of the book “Printed Photography in Venezuela” (2019), co-editor/designer with Eduardo Castro of the book “Deconstructing the Sistema Nervioso of Lange, Brändli and Chalbaud” (2023) and co-author/designer with Gonzalo Golpe and Alejandro Marote of the book “Curso/Discurso” (2020).
He currently lives and works in Caracas, Venezuela, from where he works with a multidisciplinary team internationally located.
