Pierpaolo graduated in architecture at the IUAV in Venice, where later he taught editorial design. He started his professional involvement in graphic design by working on Sol Lewitt’s installation at the Venice Biennale 1976, followed by the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, and the exhibition ‘Venezia e lo Spazio Scenico’ at Aldo Rossi’s Teatro del Mondo. With Paolo Tassinari he founded Tassinari/ Vetta design office in Trieste in 1980, working mainly in the areas of editorial and exhibition design for cultural institutions in Italy as well as for major publishing houses, and cooperating with architects and designers such as Gae Aulenti, Achille Castiglioni and Massimo Vignelli. Vetta was art director of Casabella architectural magazine from 1996 and of the architecture department of Electa publishing house from 2001. In 2002 together with Paolo Tassinari and Leonardo Sonnoli he founded the Codesign partnership (later merged with Tassinari/Vetta).
