Originally a fashion student, he learned graphic design during internships working for the music industry (1990). Since, he founded or co-founded his own practices. He completed his graphic education by spending a semester at Eastern Michigan University (1995). Already, he had contributed to the Parisian magazine Bulldozer (1994) with designer Frédéric Bortolotti, joined later by artist Nicolas Ledoux (2000). Together, they worked for museums and developed the identity of the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers (2003-2014).
With the advent of the iPad and its tactile features, Nicolas and Pascal joined forces with Olivier Körner (developer), Jean-Luc Lemaire, David Longuein (designers) and Vincent Piccolo (management) to create an app: the art bookstore Art Book Magazine (2011). ABM Studio now combines digital and print in art and communication projects (OpticalSound, Louis Vuitton, Arles 2016).

    étapes:

This article, written, laid out, and photographed on film by Béjean, presents ten portraits of French graphic designers, from a series of reportages conducted in-situ over a five-year period. The dynamic yet grounded composition of his square images recalls vintage record jackets — a major influence for designers of Béjean’s generation.

They include rare layouts for Bifur, Acier, and Peignot, assembled here for the first time in their historical context.
