A book designer and illustrator, he served on the editorial committee and was senior art editor of the China Youth Publishing House. During the 1990s, he studied with designer Prof. Sugiura Kohei of the College of Art Engineering in Kobe, Japan. In 1998, Lu established Jingren Art Design Studio. He is currently a professor at the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University and guest professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. His design for the Grand Collection of Chinese Folk Art won a Gold award; his Discussions on the Formation and Patterns of Book Design won the Gold award at the National Book Design Research Exhibition (1997). Other awards include the Publishing Concept Merit Award at the 14th Hong Kong Print Awards, and the Grand Award the following year. He has authored, edited and translated several books on his work and design. He has participated in many exhibitions: ‘Made in China’, London, 2001; ‘Book Designers from Taipei’ and ‘Asian Book Design’, Korea, 2003.

    A book designer and illustrator, he served on the editorial committee and was senior art editor of the China Youth Publishing House. During the 1990s, he studied with designer Prof. Sugiura Kohei of the College of Art Engineering in Kobe, Japan. In 1998, Lu established Jingren Art Design Studio.
