Martin Kerschbaumer was born 1988 in Bolzano (Südtirol, Italy). He started studying product design in Florence, and then graphic design in Bolzano and Lisbon. After graduation, he worked at Fons Hickmann m23 in Berlin. Back in Bolzano, Martin married his high-school sweetheart Sara.

While working and teaching at University of Bolzano’s Faculty of Design, Martin collaborated with Thomas Kronbichler for a year and then together founded Studio Mut in 2014.

Working at the intersection of 3 cultures and even more languages — Südtirol is in Italy, but borders to Austria and Switzerland — their visual language balances northern rigour with Italian flair.
