    Milton Glaser, USA (1975)

Milton Glaser was among the most celebrated graphic designers in the US. He had had the distinction of one-man-shows at the MoMA and the Centre Pompidou. In 2004 he was selected for the lifetime achievement award of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. As a Fulbright scholar, Glaser studied with the painter Giorgio Morandi in Bologna. In 1974 he opened Milton Glaser, Inc., and continued to produce an astounding amount of work. Immensely creative and articulate, he was a modern renaissance man: one of a rare breed of intellectual designer-illustrators, who brought a depth of understanding and conceptual thinking, combined with a diverse richness of visual language, to his highly inventive and individualistic work. He has been a prolific creator of posters and prints. He also was a renowned graphic and architectural designer with a body of work ranging from the iconic logo to complete graphic and decorative programmes for the restaurants in the New York WTC.
