Read full biographyIn 1981 Warwicker was awarded MA (Distinction) for his 'Research into Electronic Interactive Media’, from Birmingham Polytechnic. In 1991 he co-founded the multi-award winning, multi-disciplinary, creative studio, Tomato. He has also authored 6 books including ‘The Floating World’ - winner of the Tokyo TDC Special Prize (2010). His work has been featured in hundreds of publications around the world and has lectured in over 40 counties. In 2017 he became Professor of Design at the VCA, University of Melbourne and is visiting Professor at Zokei University and Kuwasawa Design School, Tokyo. His work embraces: Typography, Graphic Design, Photography, Publication Design, Strategy, Architectural Design, Drawing, Painting, Film Direction, Writing, Industrial/Furniture Design and Interactive Design… either as separate disciplines or in alchemic combinations. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Tokyo Type Directors Club. Warwicker considers himself an 'Amateur', journeying without boundaries: Thought into Form, by means of Language, in any medium (or combination of media); placed, strategically/poetically, at any scale or duration, into the world.
