Twittering Sung

Wei Hong

Twittering Sung is inspired by ancient Chinese folk bird seal character, incorporate birds’ gesture into strokes, just like they are glancing around and twittering talk, thus create a new sung typeface which is full of interest, gentleness and humanistic feelings. Use natural creatures to blazon the typeface and endow it with emotions, it ‘s not only a method of innovation, but more importantly a hidden eastern expression of attitude to life.

    Hong Wei lives in the city of Zhongshan. He is the member of Japan Typography Association. He founded Day Day Up Design Consultants in 2002. Engaging in branding, packaging design, book design and commercial space design. All these years he attempts to explore design within Chinese context from a humanistic perspective. Hong Wei has won over 200 design awards at home and abroad, and has participated in several major design projects. His major works include ‘Hun’ Design, A gift from Hong Wei, Enchantment of Handwriting, These are The Beauty of Books in China. His works were currently exhibited Red Dot Award Communication Design, Communication Arts, New York TDC, Silver Pencil of One Show, Tokyo Type Directors Club, And 3 Best Work, 71 Nomination Awards of Japan Typography Association.Some of his works are now collected by Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.
