Emma Thomas

Toogood is a clothing line created by designer Faye Toogood and her sister Erica. Taking workwear as its point of reference, each garment is named and cut according to the craft of specific tradespeople. APFEL developed the visual identity and voice for Toogood, establishing an approach to the graphic materials which would complement the clothing and reflect the intent of the brand.

    A Practice for Everyday Life is a graphic design studio based in London, founded by Kirsty Carter and Emma Thomas in 2003. Their work includes art direction, identities, publications, exhibitions, type design, signage, packaging, and digital. They have built a reputation as an internationally renowned and sought-after collaborator through their work with like-minded companies, galleries, institutions and individuals, and they work with a conceptual rigour that ensures each design is meaningful and original.

    Their clients include Tate, Barbican, John Lobb/Hermès, Bloomsbury, Marian Goodman Gallery, V&A, and Phaidon. Their work is held in collections at The Art Institute of Chicago, the V&A Museum Archive, the Bibliothèque National des Livres Rares, Paris, the Royal College of Art Library, and the Tate Library.
