The graphical expressions of hand signs in various daily situations demonstrates differences between signs + codes, symbols + icons, motion + gestures, interpretations + styles. Reflection about the growing tendencies of non-verbal expressions versus textual informations in the world and is addressed to a global audience interested in graphic languages, environmental communication and transcultural information design.

    Multi-task visual communicator with nomadic aspirations.
    Visual designer ( graphic artist, teacher, visualizer ). After his education at the Basel School of Design where he studied under some great names of Swiss typography, JBL opened his own studio in Basel in 1989 called Studio A N D. For the next twenty years his studio created graphic design for various local, regional and national companies and organizations in Switzerland. Since 2006 he lives in San Francisco.
    JBL shares his knowledge through educational activities such as exhibitions, workshops and courses in the US, Europe and Asia on topics such as Street advertising, typography and visual design.
