The Autobiography of Tadanori Yokoo

The towering image, clear and unique artistic style of Tadanori Yokoo is such that being asked to design the cover for this autobiography filled me with a sense of trepidation. I thought perhaps in terms of writing I can capture the necessary spirit, but that is impossible with images because no one can copy the style of Yokoo. Then it occurred to me I could just not use images for this project, leaving the cover empty like a signed blank canvas.

    Wang Zhihong was born in Taipei in 1975. a graphic designer and a member of AGI. He is committed to incorporating typography into his design projects across the cultural and commercial sectors. He launched his publishing imprints with major publishers, featuring translated books by internationally renowned artists and on their works, including Dieter Rams, Nobuyoshi Araki, Tadanori Yokoo, Takuma Nakahira, and COMME des GARÇONS. Among his recognitions are D&AD Awards, ADC Awards, TDC Awards, TOKYO TDC Annual Awards, and many other awards.
