The Annual of Annuals

Pablo Juncadella

Cover and section openers based on the idea that the ADCE publication is a ‘annual of annuals’. A modular typeface was created through a custom made set of shelves, using design annuals of member countries to draw the individual letterforms. With these, headlines and specific openers where composed. Our intention was to make this exercise as honest as possible, so the final pictures are published with no additional retouching or manipulation.

      Pablo Juncadella, Spain (2015)

      Pablo Juncadella was born in Barcelona in 1977 and graduated with honours at Eina School of Design and Art (Barcelona) in 1999. He worked at Grafica and Pentagram London before founding Mucho (together with his partner Marc Catala). During his first 3 years of Mucho he combined running the studio with being the joint creative direction of the UK newspaper The Observer. Today Mucho incorporates the original independent studio mentality with partners in San Francisco, Paris and Barcelona.

      Pablo's approach to design is focused on simplicity, wit and creative problem solving with an interest in typographic expression.

      He is a teacher at Eina School of Design, director of the Masters degree on Graphic design At ELISAVA and co-author of “No somos hormigas”.
