Sign of Nature

Jean-Benoît Levy

Created in 2020 in the midst of a global virus paralysis, this poster expresses the freedom and the chaos of the nature in conflict with the human attempts to create arbitrary system to defend the existence of its own species. The poster uses graphically simple marks given by the nature opposed to abstract systems created by humans. In any case, the shapes found in any human alphabets and signs systems contain the same DNA found in nature, which is straight lines, movements, and organic curves.

    Multi-task visual communicator with nomadic aspirations.
    Visual designer ( graphic artist, teacher, visualizer ). After his education at the Basel School of Design where he studied under some great names of Swiss typography, JBL opened his own studio in Basel in 1989 called Studio A N D. For the next twenty years his studio created graphic design for various local, regional and national companies and organizations in Switzerland. Since 2006 he lives in San Francisco.
    JBL shares his knowledge through educational activities such as exhibitions, workshops and courses in the US, Europe and Asia on topics such as Street advertising, typography and visual design.
