    Stanley Wong, China (2004)

    Born in 1960, Stanley Wong Ping-Pui, better known as anothermountainman in the art scene.

    Following 5 years as a graphic designer, Wong began his career in the advertising industry, working as Executive Creative Director for many international advertising agencies eg. JWT/HK, BBH ASIA and TBWA/ Greater China. 15 years later, Wong became a tv film director and established 84000 Communications in 2007.

    Along his career, Wong received over 600 local and international awards for his art, design, photography and advertising works. Many of his works have been exhibited in galleries and museums for over 150 shows, including major solo 'TIME WILL TELL / anothermountainman x Stanley Wong / 40 years of work' in Hong Kong Heritage Museum in 2019-20, and '2 Men Show' in Tokyo ggg Gallery in 2015. Many collectors of his works include Hong Kong M+, London V&A Museum and museums in Hong Kong.

    Over 2 decades, Wong gained international awareness with his ‘red-white-blue’ series that promotes the ‘positive spirit of Hong Kong’, which he presented at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005 representing Hong Kong.

    In 2020, he was named DFA (Design for Asia) World’s Outstanding Chinese Designer.

    This is my over two decades (2001-now) non stop red-white-blue project in which the first time exposed in oversea. Red-white-blue / Tea and Chat wants to re-create a Chinese tea house using red, white and blue daily used plastic fabric to symbolise the positive spirit of Hong Kong. Everyone, whether Hongkonger, Chinese, or Italian, is welcome to sit there and think about the 21st century (the computer age), intercommunication between men, mutual trust and the attitude of openness.
