Achim Reichert

Every day there is a new prediction displayed on the wall of the fortress, depending on the air quality. I did develop a typeface reacting to the diversity of content and the fact that it is only visible from a long distance. Here installed at the Château d’Angers.

    Achim Reichert, France (2025)

Achim Reichert is working as graphic designer and artist in Paris. He studied Visual Communication in Offenbach, Germany, and co-founded the design office Vier5 in 1999. Within this multidisciplinary practice, they developed projects such as orientation systems and visual identities for documenta 12 and documenta 14, as well as poster designs for the CAC Brétigny, often using typefaces from his own typographic production or developed specifically for each project.
Since 2020, after leaving Vier5, Reichert has focused more strongly on drawing in small and large formats, a practice that also informs his commissioned work. He is currently teaching and conducting research as an associate professor in the Arts and Philosophy department at Paris 8 University.

Poster installation on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the gallery salle principale. Each of the 38 posters was designed in the same way, with the only differences being the letter height, which was adjusted to the length of the text, and the floor plan of the respective exhibition that was provided. During the exhibition, I made drawings without context.
