Read full biographyAndrej Krátky is Slovak graphic designer and type designer. He studied in Czech republic and USA, graduating from the Type & Typography studio at the UMPRUM in Prague. He started his career as a freelance graphic and type designer, while teaching typography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He co-founded the Creative Department agency in Bratislava in 1995, where he has been a creative director and partner, and recently joined Work&Hugs – the new concept agency. He designed the FF Bradlo (FontShop) and Typotheque Nara & Nara Sans typefaces. Together with Peter Biľak with no external investors they co-founded the font trial and rental service and app Fontstand in 2015, and from 2018 they started to organize an annual Fontstand International Typography Conference with aim to connect type designers and type users and help independent font foundries to explore new ways of marketing and licensing fonts.
