After reaching adulthood how do people come to re-understand the structure of those words/characters with which they have been familiar from the earliest of ages? I tried to remember how characters looked to me as a child, though to a certain extent this was little more than guesswork. I searched for clues in memories of feelings, but the proportions were not very accurate and several had too many lines, so I thought it better to take a different approach.
