Melly eventspace

Simone Trum

The Melly groundfloor just opened, for which we were asked to join forces as temporary collective with artist Koen Taselaar, architect Tomas Dirrix and graphic designers Team Thursday. We’ve collectively designed and produced a set of dancing furnitures, tilted bookcases, patterned pillows, an inside billboard and a poster set as wallpaper. The flexible interior slides on wheels, allowing the room to shift from bookshop to small café, lectures, performances or all of that together.

    Simone Trum, Netherlands (2022)

Simone Trum is, together with Loes van Esch, collaborating as a graphic design studio Team Thursday, based in Rotterdam. They focus on the design of visual identities, books and spatial objects. They do so with a special interest for typography, a curiousness for materials and the possible performativity of an object. Looking for patterns in everything and all around them, they search for how they can transform these into designs. Next to that they regularly teach Typography at ArtEZ in Arnhem and irregularly host exhibitions and events in the front part of their studiospace, TTHQ.
