Markus Woergoetter »Affektproband Opened Up«

Clemens Th. Schedler

Markus Woergoetter’s series of “Affektproband” includes several dozen sculptures. A selection of these is shown in the exhibition of the same name in the Museum of Tyrolean Regional Heritage. The title “Affektproband” is a word created by the artist himself and describes the principle of the series. This sees plastic, in analogy to the body, as a site of forces and transformation. Leftover paperstock from the printer was used as an analogy to the multi-layered complexity of the works of art.

    Clemens Th. Schedler, Austria (1998)

Born in Munich on April 15, 1962, grew up in Vorarlberg, has lived in Vienna since 1983.

Enters the world of visual design at age 20: one year of art history in Salzburg, four years of commercial art in Vienna at the Höhere Graphische Bundes- Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt, three years freelance work for Walter Bohatsch and later for two other (at the time) fun ad agencies. Since 1990, free and freelance visual designer, concept advisor, and project developer.

    In my work, I simply
    try to bake good bread.

    Visual resonance spaces
    for looking, reading, and seeing:

    For me, power lies
in the dignity of the plain,
in the movement of the simple,
    and in solutions
    that lie close to home.

Solution means when it is good for everyone.
