Shweta Malhotra

A collaboration with Levi's India for 501 day, curated by Art & Found. The theme was ‘Stare back’ - a quirky take on men in India ogling at women. I decided to create and place a pair of eyes on the most stared at parts of a women’s body, essentially staring back.

    Shweta Malhotra, India (2019)

Shweta Malhotra is an award winning graphic designer and artist based in Mumbai, India.

She started her career as an Art Director in well-known advertising agencies like McCann Erickson, Contract Advertising, and Ogilvy. In 2008, after a short stint at Fabrica, Benetton's Visual Arts Research Centre in Italy, she found her true passion in Graphic Design. She then went on to work with Rediffusion Y&R Design and Grandmother India, at the leading edge of the contemporary design movement in India.

With 18 years of experience, Shweta currently works as an independent graphic designer with a keen interest in design for lifestyle, fashion and music. Her distinctive design aesthetic is minimal, bold and graphic, a response to the maximalist visual language prevalent in India. Shweta's work represents a 'Contemporary India', rooted in the essence of Indian culture, distilled into a fresh, modern outlook.
