Patryk Hardziej

Stanisław Lem is widely regarded as the most important Polish science fiction writer. His books have been translated into 52 languages and have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. The Lem Canon series project involved creating a new graphic and typographic design for the covers of his most celebrated works: Solaris, The Futurological Congress, His Master's Voice, Tales of Pirx the Pilot, Return from the Stars, and The Star Diaries.

    Patryk Hardziej is an illustrator, graphic designer, creator of film posters, author of books on the graphic design history, and researcher.
    Hardziej lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where he combines academic research with design practice. He is also the founder of the Karol Śliwka Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving, researching, and promoting knowledge about graphic design and its cultural significance.
    He is the initiator and curator of the 2nd Polish Exhibition of Graphic Marks, a long-running project presented in 16 editions across six countries, as well as the founder of the ILUSTRATOR – Illustrated Communication Festival. A multiple award winner, Hardziej has received honors including KTR Awards (Best of Design, Design Studio of the Year), the Polish Graphic Design Awards (Designer of the Year), and a Gold European Design Award. His clients include New Scientist, Levi’s, Converse, British Airways, Amnesty International USA, Greenpeace, and Oxford Playhouse, alongside numerous cultural institutions and museums. He has given lectures and talks in Japan, Germany, Norway, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, and Austria.
