Ichigaya Letterpress Factory

Yoshiaki Irobe

The Ichigaya Letterpress Factory is a facility where the original DNP business's workplace is reproduced, allowing visitors to learn about the processes from letter design to type casting, printing and bookbinding. The VI is designed as a variable system that allows flexible recombination of the two motifs; type and book. By silhouetting the motifs with isometric drawing, the materiality of the facility is conveyed. Inside the facility, there are signages with reproduction of metal types.
