Hand signs

Jean-Benoît Levy

Different small colored hands are building a larger symbol, an open hand. Within five colors range are five categories of hands : Symbols or gestures, alone or in pairs, empty or holding an object. This poster presents some of the 200 signs of H-and-S sign system in complement of two other products: A font system and a book published at Lars Muller publishers by Jean-Benoit Levy. A qr-code brings the viewer to an animation of the entire production.

    Multi-task visual communicator with nomadic aspirations.
    Visual designer ( graphic artist, teacher, visualizer ). After his education at the Basel School of Design where he studied under some great names of Swiss typography, JBL opened his own studio in Basel in 1989 called Studio A N D. For the next twenty years his studio created graphic design for various local, regional and national companies and organizations in Switzerland. Since 2006 he lives in San Francisco.
    JBL shares his knowledge through educational activities such as exhibitions, workshops and courses in the US, Europe and Asia on topics such as Street advertising, typography and visual design.
