Grab-Me is constructed using the same principles of bathroom hand-rails (or grab-bars) and its design adheres, almost perfectly, to the breaks found in typographic stencil designs. In 2007, Byrom used the Grab-Me design in an illustration for The New York Times Magazine. This illustration was honored with a Type Directors Club (TDC) Award for Typographic Excellence and is featured in their 2008 annual.
