    Roger Pfund, Switzerland (1981)

    Pfund is a painter, graphic artist and designer who holds Swiss and French passports. Atelier Roger Pfund Communication Visuelle in Carouge, Geneva, specializes in graphic design, communication, architecture and design. In 1971 he was awarded first prize in the Swiss National Bank’s banknote design competition and given the mandate for the creation of the reserve series of Swiss banknotes. On a European level, Pfund is one of today’s top specialists in banknote design and security techniques. Since 1971: collaborations with Orell Füssli Security Printing: research and development of security techniques. 1982–97: final banknote series for Banque de France. Since 1987: adviser/ member of Swiss National Bank’s working group. 1996: first prize, European Monetary Institute’s Euro Banknote competition. 2000–3: creation of new Swiss passport. Designed book for 50th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
