Franz Gassner

Reinhard Gassner

Franz Gassner – art book with four quintessential cycles of work by the painter and draughtsman The book core is “wrapped” in lightweight paper and the change in the kind of paper is repeated at the middle of the book. The large pen drawings and texts are placed on thin translucent paper, the c. 60 colour reproductions on uncoated illustration paper. The interplay between materiality and painterly abstraction plays an important role in the book, as it does in the artist’s work.
