    Keiko Hirano was born in Hyogo, Japan in 1959. She started HIRANO STUDIO Inc. in 1997, and established Communication Design Laboratory (CDL) with Aoshi Kudo in 2005. Hirano gives shape to design in a broad cross-section of fields including graphic design, product design, space design, branding, production of exhibitions and book publication. Her work includes the creation of the symbol and logotype for The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo which led to 15 years of continuous design collaboration; branding for Shiseido’s cosmetics line “qiora”; product design for the mobile phone series “Shosa” by NTT DoCoMo and Fujitsu; creation of the symbol and logotype, communication design for Oita Prefectural Art Museum (OPAM); elevator design for an office building (KT building). In 2014, some 450 pieces of Hirano’s work were housed at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. www.cdlab.jp
