Read full biographyRobert Probst received his design education from the University of Essen, Germany and the College of Design, Basel, Switzerland. In 1975 his professional career began in Otl Aicher’s studio for visual communication, Rotis. His three decades of practice are based on work for cultural, historical, zoological, medical, educational, and municipal institutions as well as for the private sector. Since 1978 he has been a professor at the University of Cincinnati; College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning; School of Design. His work is featured in numerous publications. He has received many awards from professional organizations and has lectured at institutions and conferences in the United States, England, Germany, and Switzerland. He served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design and as President of its Education Foundation. In 1996 he was honoured with the SEGD Fellow Award. He has three children with his wife Alison: Jasmine, Alistair, Lyndon.
