Discourse on Decadence

“Japanese and Japan itself should be decadent.” Given that Sakaguchi sought, through his writing, to instigate a spiritual uprising that would impact the feudal and restorationist atmosphere in the nation, the question was how to gloss over his forceful rhetoric and as a designer express support for him? In addressing this issue, I imagined myself listening to Sakaguchi and wanting to shout my support for his Discourse on Decadence at the top of my voice.
