    Louis Danziger, USA (1974)

    Danziger’s design education began in high school and Federal Art Project classes, 1938–42. During 1946–48 he continued his education, studying with Alvin Lustig and Alexey Brodovitch. His design practice began in Los Angeles, 1949. He has been a creative consultant (1975–86) to the Federal Government Design Improvement programme, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, LA County Museum of Art, Atlantic Richfield (Arco), Microsoft and others. A design educator for over 50 years, he currently teaches at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, has taught at Chouinard Art Institute, was director of the design programme at California Institute of the Arts and taught at Harvard University, Carpenter Center (1978–88). He has received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Contemporary Art Council of the LA County Museum of Art (1982), Distinguished Designer Fellowship Award from the NEA (1985), and the AIGA Medal 1998. His wife adds: ‘He’s a good person.’
