    Peter Bradford, USA (1974)

Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, Peter worked for I. M. Pei Architects, Time Inc., Whitney Publications, and CBS Television, New York, before opening his own office in 1965. His first projects dealt with the violence of the civil rights and anti-war movements, with work for Urban America Inc., Ford Foundation, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and the Population Council. He used his highly subjective graphics to tweak the noses of television (ABC Emmy Awards), social welfare (the film View from the Bottom) and corporate cultures (Hitachi of Japan). He produced an electronic encyclopedia for Macmillan, and ultimately led to the book Information Architects with Richard Saul Wurman for Graphis Press. His work has been placed in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress and Smithsonian Institute. Recently he has produced books about storytelling (Jackie Tales), and the creative process (The Design Art of Nicos Zographos). Next: his illustrated Guide to Idiomatic Language.
