This main-on-end title sequence combines film story motifs with the visual style of the graphic novel, making use of the source material's comic book art to capture the battle's main fight scene. The stark silhouetted figures and stylized graphic blood splashes create dynamic visual transitions through the piece.

    Garson Yu, USA (2006)

    Born in Hong Kong, Garson is a multimedia artist, film title designer and creative director. A graduate of the Yale School of Art, he worked as a fine artist in NYC in the late 80’s and early 90’s. His work has been shown at the Artists Space, PSI/Clock Tower Gallery, the Dia Art Foundation and was selected for the New York Public Art Fund.

    Garson founded yU+co in Los Angeles in 1998. His most notable film and TV title sequences include 300, Watchmen, Life of Pi, The Jungle Book, The Walking Dead and Silicon Valley. His work has earned an Emmy Award and 6 nominations.

    Garson’s multimedia work includes a public art exhibition at Pier 57 in NY, and a massive New Year’s Eve projection mapping installation in Grand Park Los Angeles for two years running. His most recent experiential project is a virtual immersive installation of the Buddhist Cave Temples of Dunhuang, on exhibit at The Getty Center in Los Angeles through summer 2016.
