    Walter Bohatsch, Austria (1997)

    Walter Bohatsch began his career as a graphic designer in 1973 in Montreal, where he worked for John German Inc. and Gottschalk + Ash. From 1978-1981 Walter attended the postgraduate course for Structural Film and Graphic Design at the School of Design in Basel, Switzerland. In 1988 he took further courses at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, and at Harvard University, Cambridge.
    In 1983 he set up his own office in Vienna, Austria. He taught ‘Experimental and Computer-Supported Typography’ from 1989 to 1992 at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna. In 1993 he and his former employee Clemens Schedler established Bohatsch und Schedler GmbH; in 1997 the firm was restructured. In 1998 he taught ‘Integral Design’ for the ‘Inter Media’ program at the University for Applied Sciences in Vorarlberg, Austria.
    Pojects by Walter have received national and international awards and have been included in various exhibitions. He takes part in various national and international juries.
