Xiewei Song

Modern transformation and expression of traditional ink painting. Ink · Unrestrained deals with the relationship between ink and material. I took ready-cut rice paper stacks and rendered the city-scape of Shenzhen – the paper stacks became architecture and ink the process of change of the City. With the paper absorbed ink, the architectures of the City changed in terms of the color gradation of the ink. The process was recorded and projected synchronously onto the background of the work.
