Bartleby

Elaine Ramos

This book incorporates the negativity of the principal character of Herman Melville’s novel: a writer whom spends his time answering “We better not” to every demands from his boss. Apathetic, Bartleby spends his days observing, blindly focusing on the building neighbouring his office. This object is sealed, sewn on both sides. After the reader has unsewn the cover, he discovers concrete walls and no text to be found. To access the novel, he will need to open the pages, cutting with a bookmark.
