      Mark Gowing has been developing his own visual language for over 30 years. Gowing’s rigorous and experimental values are executed via his Sydney-based design firm, Formist where he creates emotional, tactile and rigorous outcomes that are centred around the rhythms of language and typography. In addition, Gowing also creates publications and unique typefaces for commercial release via Formist Editions and Formist Foundry.

      Gowing’s work has been exhibited and published around the world. He has been honoured with solo exhibitions at the Warsaw International Poster Biennale in Poland, the Divieto D’Affissione in Torino, Italy and Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Gowing’s is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and his work is held in numerous institutional collections including the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.
