Xu Wang, China (2000)
Xu Wang graduated from the Design Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1979. He came to Hong Kong in 1986 and worked as a graphic designer until 1995 when he went back to Guangzhou and founded WX Design. He is a professor at the Design & Art College of Hunan University, and design director of Guangdong Museum of Art. Wang has received more than 100 international design awards, including the Icograda Excellence Award at the 17th International Biennale of Graphic Design, Brno; winning the Silver Medal twice in the New York Art Directors Club Annual Awards; two Golden Bee Awards at the International Biennale of Graphic Design, Moscow; and the Special Recognition Prize at the Shaw Prize International Design Competition. He has also judged at international competitions such as the 80th and 84th ADC Annual Awards, International Biennale of Graphic Design, Brno, International Competition Poster and Graphic Arts Festival of Chaumont, and Tokyo TDC Awards 2005.
